The site was made for everyone who uses the Gardens, which is known more commonly as 'urbis'. Members here express their opinions and feelings about the gardens, arrange events, and think up ways in which to improve the area.

The site is used to an extent as a social site, however quite a lot of the social conversation is based on ways to improve the gardens.

The site is not made to distract people from their studies, although we understand that it has in a few cases. We do discourage people from using the urbanalternatives.org.uk website during times when they should be studying/working.

Also urbisunderground is home to professional Peer Youth Workers who actively work to make sure that the opinions which are posted on the site are listened to and used to improve the gardens, organising events such as litter picks and a battle of the bands.

The site has its own moderators to ensure that nothing inappropriate is being discussed, that everyone using the site is safe and that people do not insult, belittle or make personal comments about, or be offensive in any way or form to other members.
