To work with young people to facilitate their personal, social and educational development, and to enable them to gain a voice, influence and place in society’
Youth Work Values - NYA & DfES

Engagement of young people in their space and on their terms
Young people Identify needs and priorities through research or their own experiences,
or
Young people assess and agree on need where work is funded to meet local or national targets
Young People and staff engage interested partner agencies and stakeholders
Young people consult peers on best way to deliver project
Young people are supported to plan project, including necessary training or professional support
or
Young people are formally employed and trained as paid professional Peer Youth Workers
Young people are supported to build the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary for project delivery
Young people are Involved in funding and budgeting decisions
Young people deliver the project with professional support and supervision
Young people assess the project

Young people record and publicise each stage of the project through the urbisunderground forums in a way that encourages community input and facilitates involvement by any interested parties.
