Cannibalism

Quote:
Why can’t I eat people?

I think this will answer your quetion.

There is no law against cannibalism but it would be impossible to carry out an act of cannibalism without breaking some UK laws (unless it was ’self-cannibalism, but then you might find yourself locked up under UK Mental Health legislation)

Cannibalism is the act or practice of eating members of one's own species and usually refers to humans eating other humans (sometimes called anthropophagi). Cannibalism has been attributed to many different tribes and ethnicities in the past, but the degree to which it has actually occurred and been socially sanctioned is an extremely controversial topic in anthropology. Some anthropologists argue that cannibalism has been almost non-existent and view claims of cannibalism with extreme scepticism, while others argue that the practice was common in pre-state societies. Several archaeologists have claimed that some ruins in the American Southwest contain evidence of cannibalism. Individual cases in other countries have been seen with mentally unstable persons, criminals, and, in unconfirmed rumours, by religious zealots. In the US, the Donner party was an example of cannibalism used to avoid starvation. There are disputed claims that cannibalism was widespread during the famine in Ukraine in the 1930s, during the Siege of Leningrad in World War II, and during the Chinese Civil War and the Great Leap Forward in China.
The Korowai tribe of southeastern Papua is one of the last surviving tribes in the world said to engage in cannibalism.

It is interesting to note that currently the cheapest source of material from which food grade L-cysteine may be purified in high yield is human hair. Its use in food products is widespread worldwide. Some debate that consuming L-cysteine derived from human hair is not actually cannibalism. Some believe cannibalism occurs any time any human body part is intentionally harvested, prepared, and consumed as a food.
Few people identify the compulsion to gnaw and bite nails or pieces of skin from fingers as cannibalism, because it is not the intentional harvest of a food item. Similarly, intentionally consuming one's own flesh or body parts, such as sucking blood from wounds, is generally not seen to be cannibalism; ingesting one's own blood from an unintentional lesion such as a nose-bleed or an ulcer is clearly not intentional harvesting and consequently not cannibalistic. Trichophagia is a condition where the subject consume their own hair, which is obviously a body part by definition.

It is possible for some mothers to gain possession of their afterbirth or placenta once their child is born. Some people eat this placenta material as a delicacy; this may or may not be considered cannibalism.

under 18 smoking and the community support officers

Quote:
can community support officers tell you to put your sig out if your not 18???

Yes because it’s illegal to smoke under the age of 18 and the community support officers are there to support and promote the law.

Police Timing

Quote:
hi I want to know
Do the police have to come in a certain time if you call them?

The Police are support to come as quickly as possible to an emergency, they prioritise what is happing so that the people who need the help the most will get it and then the next and so on.

legal advise

Quote:
police are trying to stop people going on urbis and there is going to be a protest
could you explain what could be done legally and illegally considering it is a
publice place and there is no laws saying we are not allowed there and is there any
laws limiting the number of people to be allowed in a group in mancester city
centre?
thanks

If the police feel a large number of people cause a disturbance they have the power legally to disperse the group of people.
If you are going to do a protest you must make sure its organised well and you have promotion to do so, that you are not causing obstruction to walk ways or roads and that it is peace full for it to be legal.

Possesion of alchohol and "weed".
is it legal to carry under a tenners weed on you if it is for yourself and is it
legal to carry beer on you if it is un-opened even if you are under the age of 18
----------------------------------------
Yes, it is illegal to carry "weed", even if it is for yourself. This is because possesion of weed, which is an illegal substance, is against the law. If you are caught with "weed" then the police have the power to confiscate it and inform your parents. In most circumstances they will also inform your parents.

The possession of alchohol, even if it is unopened, is illegal if you are under 18. If the police find you with alchohol and you are under 18 then they can, and probably will confiscate it and my inform your parents.

Dog without a lead
Can you tell me is it allowed to have a big dog on Urbis, not on a lead?
------------------
According to the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, it is an offense to let a ferocious or unmuzzled dog to run around a public place.

Also, according to the Road Traffic Act 1988, it is illegal to have a dog without a lead on an official road.

Gay Sex
at what age is gay sex legal?
-------------------
Gay sex is legal when both people are involved are over the age of 16.

Children
what should i do if my sister leaves her 7 month old baby with me, and im nearly 16, all the time.... i have no time for my work and im really under stress and i think im suffering from depression....
what do i do?
--------------------
If your sister leaves her child with you for long periods of time and you have not agreed then she is not being a responsible parent.

According to the 1989 children act: "A person who has parental responsibility for a child may not surrender or transfer any part of that responsibility to another but may arrange for some or all of it to be met by one or more persons acting on his behalf."

If she leaves the child with you, without your consent she is not arranging for the parental responsibility to be met by someone else.

If you think you are suffering from depression you should go and see your GP and see if they can help at all.

It may also help you if you put this question to our Agony Aunt.

Fake Details
My mate got caught for under age drinking and she told them she was called \'Amy
Thompson\' Wich o course she made up.
Is this illigal or what? lol
----------------
Giving the police or any other authority fake details is indeed illegal. If you are caught by the police for doing something you shouldn't, you should co-operate fully and learn from your mistakes.

If the police find out you have given them fake details, or you are uncooperative then they are less likely to be lenient and let you off with just a warning or similar.

We hope you get things sorted out soon.
